The Story
Le Chat Noir. Paris, 1896.
Tonight is the Grand Re-Opening of Le Chat Noir and the club’s founder and provocateur, Rudolphe Salis, is unveiling his new masterpiece. He knows his time is short, and this is his one chance to leave something behind. To secure his legacy.
There is only one difficulty. Of the three parts of his brand new cabaret, only two are complete: Art and Absinthe. The third, Anarchy, remains unwritten, unknown. An enigma even to its creator.
But Salis is feeling confident. He has assembled some of the most extraordinary performers in the world:
Master illusionist Joseph Bautier.
Celebrated dancer Cléo de Mérode.
Chansonnière and provocateur, Yvette Guilbert.
The greatest mime artist of the Age, Paul Legrand.
Armed with a crate of absinthe and a window of time tighter than their breeches, they will attempt to complete Salis's masterpiece and secure his legacy.
No one yet knows whether the result will be a work of genius, or a descent into chaos.

It stars a company of London’s foremost international cabaret artists and is the work of over 150 designers, makers, musicians, visionaries, and dreamers.

What is Chat Noir!?
CHAT NOIR! is the all-new experience by London’s “immersive heavyweights”, The Lost Estate. Set in the absinthe-fuelled world of 1890s Paris, it reimagines a night at Montmartre’s infamous Le Chat Noir, the birthplace of cabaret.
The year is 1896. You are the aristocrats and bohemians of the city, thirsting for after-dark delights at Paris’ most notorious night-club. Tonight, Rodolphe Salis, impresario of Le Chat Noir, will present his greatest revue yet, a night of Love and Madness from across the centuries, a masterpiece that will also be his last...
Staged at The Lost Estate in London’s West Kensington, CHAT NOIR! weaves theatrical spectacle, indulgent haute cuisine, and exotic cabaret routines into a world of Nocturnal Pleasure. This is your ticket to the moment when cabaret became a global phenomenon—amid the art, absinthe, and anarchy of Belle Epoque Montmartre.

What are the timings?
Matinee Performances: Doors and bar open at 12 pm. No admission after 12.45pm.
Evening Performances: Doors and bar open at 6 pm. No admission after 6.45 pm.
Please arrive with plenty of time before the performance, so you can enjoy the world. If you arrive late, you may have to wait for a suitable break in the performance to be admitted, and this may affect your dining experience.
How long is the performance?
The show duration is approximately 3 hours 30 minutes (from the show time shown on your ticket). This includes dining.
We recommend arriving as early as possible to give plenty of time to enjoy the space and order drinks before the live performance begins.
Accessibility and Sensory Info
This experience is strictly for over 18s only. It contains flashing lights, strobe lighting, theatrical fog and haze effects, the use of firearms and pyrotechnics, sudden loud noises, areas of low lighting, temporary blackouts, burlesque performance, partial nudity, adult themes, mild reference to suicide, and the use of strong language.

What is the dress code?
The dress code for CHAT NOIR! is 'Vintage Parisian’. All we ask is that guests dress as for a special evening, dinner or night out.
Beyond that, the world of CHAT NOIR is yours to play with: silks, velvets, shadowy glamour, and the spirit of 1890s Paris. Everyone belongs, but it's up to you how far you immerse yourself in our world.
Guests are at the heart of every Lost Estate experience, and are as much a part of creating the world as our performers, set design and menus. Can I take photographs?
There is no photography allowed inside CHAT NOIR! for your own enjoyment and the integrity of the experience. And after all, it's 1896. Smartphones simply aren't in fashion.
Is there an age limit?
CHAT NOIR! is strictly those aged 18 and over.

We’re committed to providing vegetarian, vegan and free-from options within our three course menu. Due to its complexity, we do ask for ample notice to make provisions for these requirements, so please get in touch in with our excellent team in advance.
What is the menu?
CHAT NOIR! serves a fine-dining three-course 19th–century Parisian menu created by Lost Estate executive chef, Ash Clarke, and prepared using incredible UK produce by our amazing team of chefs. Our menus are extensively researched and developed using historical recipes and real banqueting menus from 1890s Paris, enhanced through modern techniques, and brought to life using products direct from some of the UK's leading producers and farmers.

What do the tickets include?
